Going to Disney soon and was wondering if any of you have advice on which parks to see, places to eat etc. Taking my family of 4 (two kids 10,14). Any advice is welcome.
Thank you

A) Going in the summer is a mistake. It's hot as balls out and the tourists will double the line. Go in the Fall.

B) Buy the fast pass.

C) Get there early even with the fast pass.

D) Plan multiple days.

Island of Adventure. There is an iFly there that is lots of fun. If you stay at a Hardrock you get a fast pass with your room but definitely get a fast pass if not. Otherwise you will spend the majority of your day in lines.

Best advice in this thread. It's hot as shit right now and I least live on the coast. Seriously best time to go is Oct/Nov.

Also Medieval Times isn't too far. Best place you will ever eat. Get rowdy drunk, watch knights fight, and eat with your hands. Can't beat it.

THIS. you have 10 and 14 year olds. You didn't say if they were boys or girls but if they're boys they would probably prefer Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios more imo. At this point I think the magic kingdom is more for young girls that want to be a princess personally. Took my two boys there when they were like 7 and 9 and they thought it was lame. Epcot is about worthless, Animal Kingdom is the best park they got. Side note, you get the free fast passes for universal/ islands of adventure if you stay at Hard Rock, Lowes royal pacific or Lowes portofino (My favorite).

However, the best advice in this thread is to not go in the summer. I get that its really not an option a lot of times for the people that don't live here but trust me, it is just insanely stupid hot at these parks from now until september/ October. The lines are also ridiculous. I live about 80 minutes south east and the heat index has been over 100 here the last 3 days, and I'm by the ocean so we get more of a breeze then Orlando does.

Drew have you been to Universal Studios?

Not to say your kids wont enjoy Disney, but they are at the age in which Universal might be more fitting.

As others mentioned, because of the heat, you want to spend most of your time there in the mornings, and evenings/nights.

Damn Stevie...our gang are beginning to like you Bud.

During my younger years...been to DW many times...at least you
get what you pay for. Older now and have NO desire to visit again.

No future plans to visit Orlando...but if I did, got to ride by Mickey
Mouse University.

Gonna be hot and crowded. The pools are nice. The downtown area is cool at night.

Did you plan a Disney package where you are bound to doing disney things or just going to Orlando and gonna do a little of this and a little of that? Also, what are your kids into? Rides? Attractions?

I've easily spent 100 nites in Orlando over the past 10 years doing the "tourist" thing with the family.

The people on this thread are correct about being outside is hot as shit. However when you are inside a ride/attraction/show, the temperature feels real nice!!

Wherever you go, bring a shitload of water with you (find a publix near by or a warehouse store if you have a membership) and buy plenty of water. Paying $3.50 a pop at the park isnt fun!!
